Spine & Body Pain
Your spine sits on a foundation made up of the pelvis and legs. Therefore if the pelvis is misaligned it can cause strain as the spine is twisted with resultant misalignment of the shoulder to compensate. The knock on effect could be shoulder arm and wrist pain.
Conditions which may be helped by osteopaths include:
• Spine pain, sciatica and trapped nerves
• Neck and shoulder pain
• Sports injuries
• Some arthritic conditions
• Frozen shoulder
• Tennis elbow
• Jaw pain and bite problems
• Fractures and post-surgical conditions
e.g. knee ligament repair
At The Rêve Pavilion, we don’t just treat the obvious source of imbalance and pain. We look for the root causes. These could be the foot, ankle, calf, knee or thigh. For example, the foot and ankle have nerve endings which send signals right through the body to coordinate muscle movement linked in with eyes, ears and balance. If they send confused messages it causes poor coordination of body movement. The knee can also cause structural imbalance. A misalignment can result in an awkward walking gait which again puts pressure on the spine and the rest of the body.
Then if your leg muscles aren’t balanced, they cannot support the structure above them. Any part of the body structure that is misaligned can result in warning pain anywhere.
The Rêve Integrated Health System diagnoses the source of the problem using the most advanced Applied Kinesiology (AK) techniques (Manual Muscle Testing). Our experienced therapist may examine you while lying on an examination table or in a static seating position. However, this doesn’t give the whole picture of how your body structure is working. Our advanced AK practitioners will simulate you walking, lying, seated and standing, and measure your muscle responses in a whole range of everyday activities.
Here are some comments from patients:
Mark's individual and "quirky" approach literally enabled me to walk after spending 2 weeks flat on the floor, unable to move - I have been running 3/4 times a week since then, which was nearly 20 years ago?! Thank you Mark & your funny ways! - Tess Miller
